Yamei Zhang


Yamei Zhang is Professor and Associate Dean of the School of Materials Science & Engineering, Southeast University in Nanjing, China.

Her research is focused on high performance fiber reinforced cement-based composites, elastic concrete, new wall materials, reuse of solid waste, and the life cycle assessment of materials.

She was previously a visiting scholar at Hong Kong Polytechnic University (2000) and the University of Stuttgart (2003-04).

She is a member of the Council Board, American Concrete Institute, China Chapter; the ISO TC71 Committee for Concrete, Reinforced Concrete & Prestressed Concrete; and the editorial board of Concrete and Standardization.

She holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering (1990), Master of Materials Science & Engineering (1995), and a PhD in Materials Science & Engineering (1998) all from Southeast University.

Yamei Zhang was a workshop expert at the 6th International LafargeHolcim Forum for Sustainable Construction in Cairo, April 4-6, 2019.
