David Heron is Head of Strategy Development of LafargeHolcim.

He holds a Master of Engineering specializing in aeronautical engineering from the University of Bristol, United Kingdom and ENSICA (École Nationale Supérieure d'Ingénieurs de Constructions Aéronautiques), Toulouse, France. He has also completed an MBA from IMD (International Institute for Management Development) and studied strategy execution at the Harvard Business School.

He joined the Technology Consulting division of Accenture in 1997, working with customers in the high-tech and communications industries across Europe. He then went to an early stage technology start-up, Global Freight Exchange, providing a technology platform for the airfreight industry where he spent a further four years.

David Heron joined Holcim where he worked in China (2007-10) and a further five years working across Asia including three years as head of Holcim’s trading business in Asia Pacific (2011-15). He returned to Switzerland in 2015 to manage the merger of Lafarge and Holcim in Europe, subsequently taking the role of Head of Strategy Development for the Group in 2016.
