Keya Kunte is an architecture and urban planning consultant the Society for the Promotion of Area Resource Centres (SPARC), based in Mumbai, India.
SPARC is one of the largest Indian NGOs working on housing and infrastructure issues for the urban poor, principally through its support of the National Slum Dwellers Federation (NSDF) and Mahila Milan (MM). It was founded by Sheela Patel in 1984.
Keya Kunte obtained a Bachelor of Architecture (2005) from the Center for Environmental Planning and Technology (CEPT), School of Architecture, Ahmedabad, India and a Master of City Planning (2008), Urban Design Concentration, City and Regional Planning from the University of Pennsylvania, USA.
She was previously a research assistant at the Wharton Real Estate Centre, University of Pennsylvania, USA and an architect at the Ahmedabad Heritage Cell, established by the Ahmedabad Municipal Council in collaboration with the French Embassy in India to revitalize the Ahmedabad old city.
Keya Kunte was a Facilitator of the Mobile Workshop “Affordable habitat” at the 4th International Holcim Forum held in Mumbai in 2013.
