Eduardo Pizarro


Eduardo Pizarro is a PhD Candidate in the Faculty of Architecture & Urbanism at the University of São Paulo (USP), Brazil.

He is an architect and urban designer, and is a Teaching Assistant in the Chair of Landscape & Urban Design at USP. His dissertation is focused on the redesign of the spaces in between the buildings of the second largest favela in the city of São Paulo. The project was recognized with the Student Poster Competition 1st prize at the LafargeHolcim Forum on “Infrastructure Space” held in Detroit in 2016.

He holds a Master of Architecture & Urbanism from USP (2014), including a research internship at the Architectural Association (AA) Graduate School, London (2013); and a Bachelor of Architecture & Urbanism from USP (2011). His final project was an alternative design proposal to the Rio 2016 Olympic Village and was granted the National Young Scientist Award by the President of Brazil on behalf of the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development, Brasilia (2012).

His research is supported by the São Paulo Research Foundation; and he has contributed to international publications including Urban Design and ArchDaily.

Eduardo Pizarro is an Awards Ambassador supporting the 5th LafargeHolcim Awards for Sustainable Construction.
